we did some antiguing one day. i found a beautiful pair of brass shell shaped scounces and a long wooden box that has been wood burned with a grape design. i will put them in my new house on each side of the china cabinet.

Antiquing Weekend Update

I was up and out of the house early Friday to head over to the Portland Antique Expo where I met up with Isabel and Joy. They, along with lots of others were setting up for the big sale. I, was helping and shopping.

Bejeweled Bird Cages

New tonight at midnight, I think, my tiny NEW hand made bejeweled bird cages will be making their debut on I painstakingly drilled each base and hand wired the cages, adding antique beads of the rarest and best quality.

Awesome Antiques Market

Outside the entrance gate there was a court yard where street vendors were selling baked sweet potatoes, old men were chatting with their bird cages and mah-jongg sets, and kids were playing on the ramps along the staircases, ... Right outside the palace gate, though, there was an Awesome antiques market. I really enjoy Fuzi Miao, which is a labryrinthine market of fantastically cheap and occasionally supremely awesome souvenirs, but this market was infinitely cooler.
