DecorativeBirdCages.net offers articles with tips on finding and using bird houses and cages in your home. This post concentrates on bird houses, but many of the ideas that are presented also apply to decorating with bird cages.

Decorative bird houses and feeders are a nice addition to any garden, porch or patio. There is a wide variety of styles, colors and shapes and you can buy the one that best suits your garden style. In fact most of the decorative bird houses are fully functional and are suitable for bird nesting.

You can buy an ornamental bird house from almost any garden shop or online. There are many online stores selling only bird houses and you will be amazed at the number of styles available. Some stores also specialize in ornamental bird cages.

Before you buy one though, you should look for several things that are of great importance. The bird house should be made of wood or other natural material. It should be pest free and not treated with any chemicals. If it is painted make sure the paint is water based. These are all important factors and the decorative styles sometimes sacrifice them in favor of a great design and architecture.

If you are after a fully functional bird house than most of the above issues will be covered. The next worry will be where to hang the bird houses and feeders.

Some people make the mistake to install a bird house on a place of their preference. It might be nice to have it directly next to your porch door but you may not attract any birds by doing so. You have to decide if you want the bird house as a decor enhancement or you want it for birds nesting.

If you want to attract birds, than place it accordingly. Each bird type prefers different bird house placement. Some birds such as Bluebirds and Swallows prefer open areas and fields, while other such as Woodpeckers and Owls prefer forested areas. Water birds such as ducks will love a bird house facing a lake or a stream. The same rule is valid for Purple Martins. Titmice, Nuthatches, Kestrels, Flycatchers and Chickadees will like a bird house placed on the edge of a forested area. If you want to attract a bird type that will live directly in your garden, than get a bird house for Finches. They live prefectly near the house.

If you are placing more than one bird house consider the territory of each bird type. Some birds establish a territory and do not let other birds enter it. If you place more than one bird house too chlose you risk one of them staying empty. Check what is the typical territory for each bird specie and than distribute their houses accordingly.

Finally you can add some feeders near the decorative bird houses. This will invite birds to come as they will have plenty of food to raise their families.

Titmice in the Castle, Bluebirds in the Church

We put up two decorative birdhouses out front last year. One we picked up in Baton Rouge at Circa 1857. It is a church constructed of rough wood, salvaged tin, with an old doorknob for a perch.

                                                             Maintenance of Bird Feeders

If you want birds to come visiting, check out the many types of bird feeders available. Some, with decorative designs, are quite appealing to the eye. Determine whether you can carry out some basic maintenance tasks easily. A removable floor is a big help.

What Makes a Good Wooden Bird House

It's often used with other materials like copper and other decorative materials used for the roof top. Mahogany - This is probably the favorite material for use in wooden birdhouses, especially smaller ones. This is a denser wood that resists rot.

You can find lawn decorations whittled with a chain saw, metal deers and gnomes to water features, but folks who have fancy birdhouses, have gone with a lawn ornament which has a useful purpose. Remember many fancy birdhouses are decorative as well as functional.

Find out how you can have the comfortable and outdoorsy style of a mountain lodge right in your own home. Decorative bird cages and bird houses are a good choice for many settings.

One fun aspect of home decorating is giving your home a certain style and the lodge look is both warm and interesting. For the look of a country lodge, you want to invest in comfortable and cozy accessories which provide a natural wood feel. There are many plans for easy to build bird houses available if you enjoy crafts. Your lodge style decor will really look great when you add selected complimentary pillows, wall art and knick-knacks.

Wall art is a vital part of any room design, but your room will only look great if you situate it properly. When hanging art, think like a gallery and keep the center of the piece at eye level. If you have a group of artworks to place on one wall, work out the design on the floor first to come up with the best configuration. To balance your Lodge decorating style, try adding prints with an outdoors theme in rustic frames.

Finding the best knick knacks to add interest to your room design can be fun and also help give the room a professional style. To round out your lodge decorating, stick with accessories that have a comfortable and cozy style. Using beautiful flowers in vases or providing wooden doo dads and carvings on display shelves. Using decorative pieces which reflect your personality, such as ornamental bird cages, will inject a bit of your own individuality to the room. Look at shopping at thrift stores or garage sales for those strange items that won't cost a lot.

You might also decorate with decorative bird houses, bird figurines, rustic items, and taxidermy to create the impression of a country lodge. When picking your decorative items, though, you want to be sure they are in keeping with the decorating scheme and have some sort of matching aspects with each other. Don't stray to far from your decorating scheme or you might end up with a mish mash of a room design. Unique bird houses are great, but stiil should reflect the room scheme.

Decorative pillows can add a soft touch to your room style. If you had the notion that pillows were only for the bedroom, think again, they can inject an appealing touch to any room including the dining room, kitchen, bathroom and living room. Pillows will be a suitable enhancement to the bedroom when piled up against the headboard. In the kitchen or bathroom, a pillow places strategically on a hamper or chair serves to add an intriguing touch. Pillows on your couch or chair can help insert the lodge decorating sense to the furniture. For this type of dcor, pillows that are made from animal hide will work smartest.

Employing accessories made from antlers and gnarly wood can add an appealing look to your Lodge decorating style. It's pivotal, though, that you have a vision of the kinds of pieces you seek so you can stick to selecting specifically those which suit. When using accessories, proportion is critical so be sure you look for items in the sizes you need. Paying attention to proportion and size insures that you will come up with an interesting look in any design you choose!

Benefits Of A Fancy Bird House

Furthermore, it costs much more than the traditional bird house. The reason is because those people intend to use the intricate appearance of this house to decorate their garden. Some of them even use the house only for decorative purposes.

                                                             Decorative Bird Houses

Humans have a natural tendency to decorate and make things better. We like adorning our houses with all sorts of frills and ornaments. During the holiday seasons, we put up whatever decorations are necessary for the current festivities. Decorative bird cages and houses are often used.

                                                             Decorative Birdhouses

One sign spring is near are birds looking for a place to build a nest. We made some decorative birdhouses to use as decorations to bring the feeling of spring indoors. The birdhouses are made with mostly recycled materials.

                                                             Different Types of Bird Feeders

To attract singing birds choose decorative birdhouses in colors such as yellow, orange, red or pink. These types of bird feeders are often made of plastic and might even seem a little tacky or not to your taste.
